    Scope mounting

I'm wanting to put scope rings on my ar platform, but what do y'all think? Scope rings or scope mount?

With rings you can get to where you cannot get the scope back far enough.... just verify that you want the scope as far forward as you would need to put it without using an offset mount.

Don't use rings. Use something that's meant to be used on an AR like a cantilever mount.

          Burris P.E.P.R. mount or similar.
          All the best,
          Glenn

Aero Precision ultralight mounts, take a look and see if that would work

Cantilever mounts have been the best for me and I've used both. Burris, Warne, etc.... all good gear.

I have used rings on all mine without issue. One has a quick release base and the rest are solid mount

So far you are the only person on here to say use rings. LOL

You either need to learn to read or count. That statement is false.

If your AR is setup or built such that rings will allow the correct mounting of a scope, go for it, but know that most don't, which is why cantilever mounts exist......

Excellent choice. I use Glenn's gear as much as possible
