    Thermal Scopes

Im in the market for night vision or thermal scopes. I wanting to get a good quality and brand. What are the cheapest/ best scopes on the market?

Cheapest and best do not go together on thermals. But Pulsar line of new thermals are the way to go. I recently got a RXQ30 thermal and it is under $2000. It does not have all the fancy stuff the more expensive units have but it will kill animals no doubt. If your budget is above that, then look at the new Pulsar Trail units alot of cool features.

Detection range (human) 985 yards, per pulsar.

I will hunt it next week hard. Comfortably have been told 200 yards on hogs is no problem.

I have xsight 2 5x20 I can see 700 yards no problem with sniperhawg IR love it
But I will say a thermal is a lot faster scanning fields like way faster , but the thermal does not see small bushes and tall grass or have the definition that the NV has have hunted my xsight right next to 6 thousand dollar thermal i would say get NV scope and thermal handheld scanner

I love my Reap Ir and Mark III 60 mm put they are very pricey. It depends what you have in your pocket book. We kill a ton of hogs and I wouldn't trade my scopes for nothing.
Aramasight Zeus pro is also a bad ***** scope
make sure whatever you get , start out with a 640 IMO

Hmm. My thermal sees that detail, in fact you see anything with a temp change. An animal lights up like a Christmas tree. My thermal says it will detect out to 1800 meters, but I do not see that kind of detail and frankly have never needed it past 200.

I would actually go the other way, night vision monocular on a helmet for stalking and thermal for the kill.

Shooting hogs at 200 yards with IR Hunter Mark III 60mm 4.5 native

Stalking to 85 yards with the IR Hunter Mark III 60mm 4.5 native

Really? What was the temp ? His would not show Johnson grass that was chest high or small mesquite limbs
It was a reap IR mini or something like that

                          Similar thread:

640x480 thermal core is definitely the way to go if it fits your budget but the 384x288 cores are not bad for the money as well.

Another vote for Jason @ Outdoor Legacy.
