Bipod on TC Pro Hunter help

I want to mount a bipod on my TC but the forend is curved at the point where the sling swivel mount is (see pic,) making it difficult to mount the bipod. Bipod does not seat properly. I have seen a bipod mounted on one of these without drilling a new sling stud. I don't know what model bipod it was or how it was done. I wish I had paid more attention but I didn't. Any help?

If you don't want to add another stud I'm not much help.

I will say this though. Both me and my father have played with accuracy on the TC Encore a bunch. Due to the fact of the forend screwing directly onto the barrel and not having it floated free of the barrel, where you put pressure on the forend can influence accuracy (and POI) quite a bit. Personally I prefer to mount a bipod or have the "pressure point" where my sticks rest to be further back towards the action. Like somewhere around the front forend screw. It always seems to me I get better consistency with it at that point. Something like this.

Jethro is 100% correct in his statements about pressure changing POI, depending on where you put the bipod on these weapons. The stud shown in your picture is really not designed for mounting a bipod. It's more for a sling than anything. Check yours. The "stud" on mine was actually made of plastic, molded into the forearm. I cut it off after it broke.

There are 4 voids in that forearm. I would mount a new sling swivel mount / bipod adapter in either the second or third void from the front - I prefer the third one, right behind the front forearm screw. But I know many that have used the second void, just in front of the front forearm screw.

Using these, that forearm will be fine for mounting a bipod:

      All the best,

Jethro and CT nailed it. They are very sensitive to forearm pressure unfortunately and I would be worried about using a bipod with one. You could possibly be OK if you went with an aftermarket forearm with a hanger bar system like Bullberry makes.

cajuntec knows his business with TC's.

Initially I put my stud in the third void, right behind the front forearm screw. For me, it was just a touch too far back for the balance on the rifle. Since I was gonna cerakote the stock anyways I filled the hole with JB Weld and move it forward to the second void, right in front of the screw. To me balance is pretty good there and it rides the rear bag well.

Of course though I have a can on it and that throws balance forward some too, even though I chopped the barrel back to 18".

I also have the forend bedded on mine, the only place it touches is at the two forend screws. The ears of the forend don't touch the frame, and the only place the forend touches the barrel is right around the two forend screw bosses.
