    6.5 CM reload?

Anyone reloading the Hornaday 147 grain ELD Match bullet? If so, can you post what the best workup and results you've seen?

Also, the same question for the Hornaday 143 grain ELD-X precision hunter bullet.

We shot a hew hogs this weekend, and my buddy was using the factory 143 grain load and it had outstanding terminal ballistics.

We shot paper out to 800 yards with the 147 bullet and I was very, very impressed with the results.

Just wondering if the GS reloading gurus had any experience with this round. I'm rehabbing from shoulder surgery so I haven't shot for a year. Both rounds really impressed me.

I know the factory powder is H4350, and I heard that some of the boxes had the charge weights printed on them, but none of mine do unfortunately.

2,700 fps is the listed velocity, I don't have a brake on my 6.5 but I do on my .30-06. Shooting similar reduced loads (125 gr at 2,800 fps), the recoil is barely more than a .223. Something to consider with your shoulder injury.

H4350 is going to be the most prevalent answer. The Creedmoors popularity is why you cannot find H4350 right now. Also try Reloader 16 as it has been shown to have less temperature instabilities than even the H4350.
I shoot CCI 450's in Lapua small rifle brass necked down to 6 Creed.

I would suggest 210m primers and H4350 starting at about 40 grains working up until you see pressure. You will be searching for a unicorn with these components though.

Thanks guys, I appreciate the info! I have a bit of H4350 left, so I'll order some bullets and work on that.

I've also started playing with IMR4451 with good results

I have not been able to find H4350 and this is as close as I've come to repeating the factory load.
