    Reloading table

What's the best height for a reloading table? I'll be building a table this weekend. It table will be 54"x20". Also post some pictures of yalls tables so I can see how to arrange everything on it.

Can't wait to see it.. I use my shi*$y ikea table in my apt and make it work.. Can't wait to get a propper bench and reloading area! With that said, I've made it work and pumped out some solid pistol reloads!

Depends on your height, and if you want to sit or stand. I initially built mine a lot lower, but then realized that I had to dip my shoulder down when using the press. So I rebuilt the side supports to raise it up higher. Now, I can use my press without dipping my shoulder, and I can lean on it to get eye-to-eye with my scale instead of bending my knees to get eye level with it. I'm about 5'7" most days, and my table top is 44 1/2" tall.
      All the best,
      Glenn

My former reloading table was made from an old metal drafting table, with a double thickness top of 3/4" MDF. I think it measured 6' x 3' and it has a cabinet on top with sliding pegboard doors plus a hinged fold-down door that holds the scale and trickler. I'm a lefty so my arrangement of press, powder measure, etc will likely be different from yours

          I'm 5'7"

My bench is 41", and I put my presses on risers.

I like for the cartridge to be near eye level.

I have a draftsman stool to sit on when I have repetitious stuff luke decapping brass.

I don't know exactly how high I made my main bench with most of my presses on it but I do things standing up and it's quite comfortable for me at 5'11". Probably at about 40" tall it's all steel and bolted to the wall and concrete slab. It doesn't flex or budge even when I am sizing 50 BMG brass.

I also made it shallow to prevent it being a storage area. The cubbys above bench and a 8ft bench and 3 overhead cabinets hold reloading supplies.

I'm not sure of the measurements but my bench is tall enough that I can stand or sit on a bar stool and comfortably operate the press.
Be sure to include adequate lighting.
