I had my brother there with a grendel for backup. He was instructed to shoot if there was any movement after I shot. A little miscommunication and I didn't know he could not see him when I fired.

Either way it was a test and I won't try it again. Subs for plinking only.

As far as shooting them behind the shoulder, I've had terrible luck with blood trails on big pigs when doing that. Shot this ones twin a month ago with a 325 grn FTX from a 45-70 and didn't get a blood trail. Shot was tucked perfectly behind the shoulder. He didn't make it far as I hit him twice more as he was running away but it was surprising to say the least.

Had a similar result with a coyote shooting subs. Supers for me from now on.

I'd highly recommend aiming for the ear hole or vitals with subs.

Done the same at about 15 and didn't even find a spec of blood

Check out Engle Balistics. This is what I am using. I only had 1 issue on a large boar using the reaper. It did not penetrate the shield. I was told not to shoot through the shoulder area due to the shield but as a habit, that is where I shot. I was told to go for a quartering away shot with the reaper. Next time I will get the fracturing ammo and see how those perform. They have videos on their site. Kinda neat!

5.56 Green Tip Lake round does the job every time, at least from my experience. Penetration and shot placement is the key!!

Supersonic 110 Vmax in ear hole works good.
