I am supporting the gun under the cylinder just in front of the trigger guard and my hand/grip of gun is touching the rest in the rear pretty much like I would do a rifle under the forearm and the butt.

    This is not good?
Supporting the frame isn't as bad as the support under the grip. The gun needs to recoil freely. When you support under the grip, the recoil of the gun will cause groups to not be consistent. Remember that recoil starts before the bullet leaves the barrel. You can get away with it when shooting lighter recoiling revolvers but you won't when you get to the .44 magnums and above. You can support your wrist but definitely don't have anything under the butt of the gun.

I've always shot with the frame supported on a bag right in front of the cylinder also, but nothing under the grip. It's pretty rough on san****s though !

Guess you can't say D. Bags on here

Well I guess its back to the gun range with a different hold.

Sounds like a good excuse just to go shoot to me!

Yeah, But I'm burnt up a lot of bullets to make zero progress.

Twist rate in the shorter barrel length. Not enough time to fully stabilize the bullet is my guess.

I would also say it's a bullet weight issue. I've owned 7 different .44 mags. and all liked the 240 gr. the best. Do you hand load Mike? Or know some one close that does?

I actually inherited two reloading sets and even built a bench. I have not reloaded one shell.

On the bucket list for when I retire I guess.
