    Cabelas firearm return

    Fellas,

My wife surprised me with a pistol for my birthday. Very grateful for the gift. Only issue is she asked for a glock 10mm longslide and they sold her a glock 29 compact in 10mm....what can I do? Really hate to sell it and take a loss.

You better keep it. Go buy the one you want and she will never know the difference.

        You're probably stuck.

But hey, wish my wife would buy me any Glock!

Unfired ? Do they have a no return policy ? If so, then 6.5's advice would apply.

No return policy once it goes thru the nics and info is filled out on 4473 then they can't leagally take it back , keep it and buy another one later on or try to find someone that will trade you maybe

Nonsense...I've had customers return 5 figure guns back to Cabelas after I've logged them out to them & gotten refunds.

It's up to the individual store & the particular circumstances if a return will be accepted.

Cabelas has a VERY liberal return policy. At least they used to. Buddy of mine was a CS manager at a store and he said they almost NEVER said no on a return. Not sure about guns but I'd sure try! If anyone would let you return, it'd be Cabelas! Better do it quick and, it prolly goes without saying, but your wife needs to do the return. I'd have her go talk to a CS manager right off the bat and push the narrative that she was sold something she didn't really want but didn't know any better till she got home and talked to you. If you're swapping it for another Cabelas item, I'll bet you'll get it done. Refund - not likely.

                    Good luck!

No laws on gun return. That is store policies. I could understand once paid for, but that is a horrible statement that it is illegal.

I returned a shotgun to WM once. They were not too happy about it but they sold me the wrong gun. Never got to touch it until I left the store. They said if they take one back they have to send it to a gunsmith to make sure it is safe and functional. Then when they sell it they take a 10% discount.

                          I have a G40, had a G20 and have always wanted a 29.

Tell her the truth, you doubt they will take it back.
Keep it and add a G40 as time and $$ permits.

I mean she tried, maybe the 29 was meant to be [emoji16].

Thanks fellas, I would gladly take an exchange for a fullsize or longslide. Will see what they say today.

When i worked there if you get a manager to help you shouldn't have much of an issue. if its UNFIRED. But do not be surprised if they don't give you full value and decide to buy it back as a used gun. But you need to get on it fast. The longer you wait the harder it will be and your wife may have to be the one returning it since she bought it.
