Help me figure out this Remington 700 variant

I've got this 700 posted in the classifieds, but do not know which variant it is after someone said it isn't a Sendero. I was figured it was, but hey I can be wrong lol.

You guys take a look and let me know.

It's not a sendero with a factory laminated stock...I'm assuming it was a bull bbl of sorts that got shortened??

Would need a pic of the whole gun to see you actually have there. Also, the caliber would help. Depending on the caliber, I think you may have a VLS variant.

A call to Remington with the serial number would also do the job.

300mag so not vls...the s would stand or stainless or synthetic.

my opinion ..... you have a 700 BDL . Barrel would have been 24" or 26" long. Yours has been shortened to 22" and threaded.

Original wood stock would have been walnut with black fore end tip and black grip cap with white spacers. Appears to be an aftermarket brown laminated stock, perhaps from Stockys.

Remington can tell you exactly what rifle was when leaving shop ... 1-800-243-9700

does the barrel have filler screws where a rear sight would have been ?

also what does the barrel OD measure at muzzle ... .695" , .775", .820" ?

It's a 300 WM. I bought it with the stock and the original barrel length was 26". I had it cut down to 22" and threaded. There are no filler screws in the barrel.

I have a Sendero chamnered in 7mag that looks just like it stock and all. Mine is stamped Sendero and I bought it new years ago. If you dig on the net you can find alittle info on them nut not much.

It is a sendero. There are a few different Calibers made in this combination with the laminated stock. A call to Remington on a 7mm STW I almost bought exactly like this, gave me the info that they were mainly special runs for certain stores.

The bbl will be stamped sendero if it is indeed one...I don't think so or the OP would or should have nailed that point home already.

When you add an omega it's just the right length.

I'll pull my 270 out tomorrow to compare...if it's a black smooth bbl barrel then it's gen 1 sendero if legit.

My problem is that stamping...why does it look different from the other roll marks?? Blake should be able to tell the s/n born on date to see if it jives.

Sorry, not trying to be an arse, just looks goofy to me??
