    PSA AR9 problems

So I finally got my AR9 put together like I wanted to. 7.5" barrel, shockwave brace, 12" Aero handguard. Looks great, doesn't shoot for crap. This morning it threw a shot almost 3' from the aim point at 50 yards. Couldn't keep any group under 6" at 50 yards. 4x scope shooting prone off a bipod and rear bag. Finally got fed up with it and put it up. Brought it home and started going through it. Everything tight. Nothing obvious in the chamber or bore, but the crown is HORRID.

I have an email in to PSA to see what course of action we need to take.

Here it is in it's regular form. I had put the 4x scope on just to test some loads. The red dot doesn't lend itself to that.

I would say carbon build up from your muzzle device.

Less than 50 rounds through it.

          Dang!
Thats the ugliest barrel crown I've ever seen, and I bet it is the source of your problems.

Just an assumption here, but working in a machine shop we see things like this a lot. Looks like is was probably screwed up in the first place, then welded over so that it could be recrowned, and the rework never happened.

Sorry for your troubles. Getting a barrel like that is completely unacceptable!

That is terrible and rework not getting done is probably what happened. But in my experience with PSA is that they will make it right asap

Did you, or someone else put this together? I would have thought that whoever attached the muzzle device / can / etc... would have seen that during assembly. That's crazy. Hope you get some good results after talking to the manufacturer.
                All the best,
                Glenn
