SiCo Omega flys downrange; RSOs refuse Ceasefire.

Okay, so crappy Omega mount fails and silencer launches downrange at indoor range.

no big deal. happens all the time. just cease fire and go get it, re-attach to crummy mount and it stays on

but not this time. jerk RSOs refuse to call and ceasefire and go get the can.

Other jerk shooters start using the lonely can as target practice.

    Amazing on so many levels.

What would the Feds have to say about a RSO effectively confiscating this lawful owner's can by not allowing him to safely retrieve it immediately after it went downrange?

I was thinking the same thing.

That range or the jack wagon who shot it would be buying me a new one that's for sure.

Knowing how the RSO behaved in this instance, would you as a shooter or lawful suppressor owner want to shoot at this range?

In any case, would it have caused any more than a few minutes delay max to call a ceasefire and retrieve the can? If I was on the line, I wouldn't mind a bit to allow a short break. In fact, I could argue that a loose can rolling around downrange poses a safety hazard that REQUIRES a temporary ceasefire.

Puzzling RSO behavior here, perhaps a teachable moment.

Shame on those RSOs for not taking action. I also find some fault with the shooter though. I this is just a crappy situation that should have been an easy fix.

1 - I would have made them call cease fire or gone and talked individually to each shooter there and arranged a cease fire. If everyone stops shooting and I hop the bench to get my can, I leave happy. What are they gonna do, kick me out? I would never darken their door again anyway.

2 - If that wasn't possible I would have rented the lane for the rest of the day and stayed will my suppressor. Also asking others to please not shoot my 1500 dollar can.

3 - I would have immediately called the NFA branch or a lawyer and threatened the range officer with legal action, if they didn't let me get my suppressor.

4 - There is absolutely no way I would leave that range without my suppressor in hand!!!

5 - Never shoot at that range again.

6 - As an owner of an omega myself, I need to remember to thoroughly check my mount before shooting, so I don't have to deal with this.

Sounds like the mount is not secure or trustworthy.
