    Shield 40

Those that got em, how do you like em? Looks like quite a few were sold or for sale on the classifieds here, so for those that sold em why'd you sell?

I'm not overly interested in one, but PSA is running a deal on them along with the rebate from S&W it looks like the in hand price would be $240 after shipping and FFL. For that price I'll give it a try...unless there's a reason everyone sold em after getting one.

I've been down the single stack 40 road before with a PM40, but the ergonomics and shootability of the Shield appears to be several steps ahead.

I'm in the same debate myself right now. I was about to pick up 2 shields for the wife and I but I can't decide if I want the 9 or the 40.

I bought the Performance Center in .40 just a few weeks ago. It has replaced my XDs as my carry gun. It has the best trigger I've ever experienced on a striker fired pistol.

I suppose it can't have more recoil than a stoutly loaded +P 442

I have a shield .40 and 9mm, I like the 9 better as one of my EDCs. .40 has a little too much snap for me and I shoot a lot. If it was ported, then I might like it more. Got the 9 off PSA just waiting on my rebate.

I have the .40 as my edc. Recoil is manageable. The two biggest complaints I've seen all over the Internet and have personally experienced are: 1. people trying to use the slide stop as a slide release(it's not intended for that, but can be achieved with some light sanding). 2. Out of the box some won't eat all ammo. Mine wouldn't. You can send it back to get this fixed or polish the feed ramp yourself.

I have the 40 as my carry and my wife has the 9. I can manage either of them well, as can my wife.

I have seen reviews that on the ported version you really can not tell a difference in the handling of the shot maybe a little less barrel flip but not much to really make it a hard choice between the two..

I actually had a huge debate over this topic with people. I keep telling them that its a slide stop and not a release but most people think otherwise. I even asked the instructor when I took my LTC class and he also said its not intended as a slide release. The group of guys I had this debate with then went on and said that instructor is an idiot lol but whatever.

Back to the point. I have the 9 as my edc and my cousin has the .40 cal. I prefer mine. They are both manageable but the 9 is just a bit more cost effective to shoot. Only complaint I had was the lack of fire power. I was thinking of investing in the hyve extended mag but ended up getting the alien gear mag holster instead and now I'm happy

Lol - just sent this to my coworker and he still insist its a slide release because he's done it numerous times on numerous guns (#-__-)

I have one and like it... a little unbalanced IMO, but overall a nice shooting gun. It was a gift, so I kept it, but I'm a Springfield XD guy, so that woulda been my first choice.

I love mine and carry it almost every day but my 10mmShort is really a 9mm.
