    Load workup chart

Here is one I genned up this morning in Excel. I added the range and dot size lines to the file. Would you change or add anything else? This is meant to be filled out at the bench while you are shooting. Make a shot, record the velocity, any notes (sticky bolt, pulled shot, wind gust, etc.) and mark on the dot where the shot landed with it's round number. Send me a PM with your email if you like a copy of it.

I'd replace OAL with B2O, as I've found the base-to-ogive to be a much better / consistent way of measuring since buying the Hornady comparator setup. I can change my dies and then come back and re-tweek them back to the exact measurement by rechecking the B2O measurement, whereas a OAL check varies too much for precision resetting of the die. Using the micrometer inserts on my dies makes it even easier. I record die micrometer setting and B2O measurements.

      All the best,
      Glenn

I agree with Glenn about the B2O measurement and saved this for future reference. I may make a similar version of it.

        Thanks for posting.

Y'all may be tired of me posting this, but B2O or bullet jump as I termed it, was the most important variable in accuracy workups when I was in the business. The comparator measuring setup is a critical tool to extract the last .001" out of your rig.

I would also add primer and die / bushing size

The die will either be "factory" or custom with "bushings". Document bushing size since that controls bullet seating neck tension. Changing bushings will effect accuracy

If you make the additions that Glenn and Blake suggested, I'd be interested in a copy to try out. I'm just about to start development for a new load for 300wm.

I work one similar on my Ipad. I have it where it averages and gives the std dev of the speeds.

My chrono does not do that.

Primers! Doh! I knew there was something obvious I was forgetting.

Regarding the seating depth or OAL, I figure that can be tailored to the individual need at the time of printing. Right now, I am only set up to measure OAL. I know it's not ideal, but it won't make a lot of difference in my rifle, as I am limited to magazine length.

I will make a tweak or two in the morning and get it emailed to those that requested it.

Latest and greatest, including the recommended changes. I have a comment on there pertaining to seating depth/ OAL, etc. telling you to modify that cell as needed, and to delete the bushing size if not used. The Avg, Std dev and ES cells on the left are calculated if you want to go back into the sheet and add the velocities.

Lets see if I can attach it here rather than emailing it:

Looks great. You helped a lot of people here, especially those that may not know excel very well.
