What gun is louder super sonic I say the 300blk is louder
My buddy say 222 is cause less gun powder

With or without a can?

With a can the .308 diameter bullet will cause a louder sonic crack at the same velocity.

From what I see powder charges are about the same but the .300BO is rated for higher pressures. That higher pressure will equate to more gas to vent without a can absorbing the gas and reducing the sound it will have more sound both from the gun and from the bullet.

Now whether the human ear can detect the difference is something else.
