I bought the Vortex Rzr HD this past year. When it comes to glass you definitely get what you pay for. I could not justify the Swarovski for what I use it for but I can say the Rzr HD is a very, very good scope for the money.
Maven just came out with their spotting scope this past year as well and from what I hear it is a very good piece of glass as well.

That's about right for just the regular eyepiece and the 95mm retail. My rep lady from Swaro didn't have my dealer cost yet for it. Should get it by the first of May.

I recently bought the Vortex Razor HD 22-48 X 65 Straight and a Vortex window mount from one of our TBH site sponsors Arrowsmith . The clarity and definition of the scope is unbelievable. Images are on par with any European made optics.
Arrowsmith beat all others in price including Cameraland and Ebay. I would highly recommend using him if you can. We need to take care of our sponsors.

I'll start with a 85mm lens and an angled eye piece. If I need something lighter I can always get a 65mm tube and put the eyepiece on it. What I like about the modularity is being able to break it into 2 pieces for fitting into my pack. Sometimes the weight is less of an issue if it can be placed close to you; rather than on the outside of your pack where it causes an unbalanced load. I made a BIG mistake by looking through the 85mm ATX recently. Lol! God help me if I ever look through the new BTX binocular eyepiece! Lol
