    Range day

Picked up my G40 at lunch today and have put about 80rds through it. Love the adjustable rear sight and the trigger is slightly better than what I consider "same ol Glock trigger". Recoil is really reduced in the 40 from my old 20SF. Going to take some practice, but I should be able to hit with it at 50. So far I've shot at 25 about as well as what you most people do at the range at 7-10. Practice practice practice.

Next up is the Ruger Bisley Blackhawk 357. The trigger on this baby is oh so sweet. I am shooting much better with it, but that's to be expected. I could hit with it out to 50 right now if I had something to brace against. I'm gonna put about 200 through it then finish with another 100 in the Glock 40.

Finished up with my 300BO. Runs like a top so far, but I have to say the Spike's factory trigger SUCKS!!! I don't need a precision trigger as this is a fun gun, but I gotta change it out. It's heavier than a Glock trigger and gritty and just plain unacceptable.

How hefty feeling is that G40? Was never really a glock fan until I wanted a 10mm ended up with a rock island though, so it can double as a conceal carry option.

It is heavier, but the balance is still good. I would really like to shoot it with a rest, but I did reasonably well offhand. The longer barrel causes a little more muzzle flip over the Glock 20, but I like the recoil spring setup better. Will probably change to a Ghost 3.5 trigger and add a red dot.

I shot 180gr PMC, 180gr XTP handloads, and 175gr Silvertips. The Silvertips had the biggest boom and recoil, but my warm hand loads had the snappiest recoil, more similar to what a Glock 20 feels like.

Pretty impressed with the Glock 40. Definitely has a lot of potential, I just need to shoot it often to build some consistency.
