    Remington 887 HELP!!!

Ok. I finally bought me a shotgun. Academy had an awesome deal. Paid $225 for the last one on the shelf.

I haven't shot 15 rounds through it yet and it keeps acting up. The action keeps jamming. There is a piece of metal that slides down the bolt carrier assembly that slides up and keeps catching. I can shoot once and it will jam. Any thoughts??

What are you saying? Does it slide down or up? Lol

The port cover gets stuck towards the barrel and exposes everything behind the bolt. Then the slide jams and will not eject the shell. You have to bump the stock downwards to get it to move. I was hoping this was a issue it would fix after the gun was broke in, but I can't shoot more than once without it jamming. I bought it 2 weeks ago from Academy. I haven't ran through 15 shells yet.

With a brand new gun, it needs to be sent to Remington for repair.

What kind of ammo are you using?

Academy probably won't take it back. "All firearm sales are final" But, you can definitely send it back to Remington.

And get a nova, an 870, or a BPS.

My 1100 won't cycle lighter loads, will throw 3" BS all day but the target loads and such will shoot one and jam...not sure what ammo you're using but thought this may help. If you're not shooting any kind of light rounds then I agree with the others in sending to the manufacturer.

Perhaps this? My A-5 (one of the older Belgium models) will only cycle high-brass (at least in 2.75" shells).

Different game. A pump should cycle anything. If you're shooting that alluminum junk that's not the guns fault. That stuff would jam a 4 lane highway.

Ahh, I didn't check that out, just assumed it was Auto. My dads Benelli will pump out anything he puts through it as should this one. Please disregard my above suggestion, shouldn't apply to this issue.

Do you swap around the friction ring to the right setup? The placement is different for heavy and light loads.
                              All the best,
