    Open carry question

Saw my first open carry today...and no one seemed bugged...which is cool. But, does it need to be full open or can most of it be covered?

Either... you have to have a CHL to carry in TX

      I know...but 100% open...show the world...concealed means to not be seen...but how about partial open/concealed?

        Oh, I see.

Not this guy. I know the debate will rage on but I just feel like I'm first to get shot if I open carry. I like the element of surprise. I was glad when OC came along so I'd never have to worry about accidentally exposing but I haven't or will OC when out about the town.

I suspect that in the eyes of the law that partial open is equal to full open. It is visible.

If you have an LTC it does not matter if open, partially open or concealed.

I don't see why partially covered would be a problem since either concealed or open is legal with a permit. I sometimes carry "partially" concealed if I have been carrying a large revolver here on the farm and need to go to the store for something. I just pull my shirt tail out, sometimes part of the holster is still sticking out..

If you show your weapon then it must be in a holster by law, doesn't matter what kind. If you are concealing it then it does not matter either way.

That's a good question as to actual legality. I know there are regulations for open carry so I'm in for the answer since all I can do is guess.

If you took your LTC class at least my instructor went over the difference like I said above. If you show any part of your gun it must be holstered. There is no specific definition however of what a holster is so you can pretty much make that up but you can not just shove it in your belt and open carry. Conceal carry however doesn't matter stick it in your sock or wherever just as long as it is not visible.

Unless some place you go into has a 3007

It's a License to Carry. Does not matter. If open it has to be in a belt or shoulder holster.

I personal would not say anything to anyone about partial.

This is what I was told by an officer here in Conroe at a rifle range. It's either 100% concealed or they'll consider open.
