    Ruger American Predator 6.5 CM

Here we go with another view, or review, of the RAP in 6.5. Now, I'm not a gun expert, I don't work for any companies and I definitely won't be getting any reimbursement for this. So, here goes. I'm always interested in different calibers and, being a tightwad and broke, I usually have to trade into, barter, or sell something to try out the newest, latest and greatest. Cash only and no credit cards keeps me this way. I traded an old Mauser that I had exactly $325 in for my RAP that also came with a Timney trigger that wasn't installed. I 1st shot the gun with the stock trigger and a Leupold 3x9x40 a few weeks ago. I shot 24 rounds and could tell it was a descent shooter, but it didn't knock my socks off. Of course I was learning the rifle and it's not fun shooting at the range with casings hitting you from the guy next to you. Anyway, this week I found a cheap Bushnell Banner scope, 6x18x50AO, on Craigslist and purchased it. I was very surprised at the clarity of this scope, very surprised. I stopped by the range today and shot 20 rounds of Hornady American Whitetail and 16 rounds of Hornady Precision Hunter. Most of the shots were "shoot 2 and adjust scope, then shoot again". I was also figuring out where I could aim the multiplex reticle and see where they hit. Trying to use the 3 points on the plex for different yardage. Anyway, I'm very happy with how it shoots and can't wait to stretch it out past 100 yards. Here's a few pics. It's a fun gun, and caliber, and I'll shoot it until I'm bored and want something different,,,,maybe.

Are you shooting the rifle as you have it in the pictures? The barrel is riding in the front bag which will be a problem if you are shooting it that way. The bag should be placed under the forearm and the barrel will be free from touching anything.

I agree, It wasn't like that when shooting, just when at rest.
