I've done it on my Gold 12ga, one pin and the plug came right out, but it is different. On the 10ga I was able to punch out the two small pins that I assumed kept the plug from spinning but I cannot turn the plug using a screwdriver except for just a tiny bit. Any tips on how to get this thing out? I want to clean the recoil spring tube, spring, plunger, etc. But I cannot get this plug out...any advice? For the life of me, I cannot find anything regarding the 10gauge online that has helped me so far.

How to remove recoil spring tube plug from Browning Gold 10ga

I've seen the schematic and studied it thoroughly. LOL. And the manuals for the 10ga I've found online don't go into it. Most of the material online is for the Gold 12/20ga shotguns, which I own and have had no problems removing the recoil spring assembly to clean it. BUT, there is nothing I can find that explains the process for the 10ga. I know there is just some little trick I'm missing. I thought punching out the two small pins that go into the recoil tube plug would do it, but guess not. I've seen videos from folks working on other brand guns where they had to heat the outside tube with a torch to get the threaded plug out. Not sure if that is necessary in this case. If I have to, I'll take the dang thing to a gunsmith, but I like to figure things out myself.

The plug(part no. 74 in the schematic) is threaded and has a slot in it like for a large flat-head screwdriver. It also has a hole drilled through it from the side for the two small pins(part no. 75). I've removed the pins and tried turning the plug counter-clockwise with a large screwdriver, but it stops after only a few degrees. I don't want to force it and ruin something. That is why I was wondering if someone knows "the trick" to getting this thing out.
