        Here is the breach end after he opened up the recoil lug to fit over the oversize tenon and threads since the action threads were re-cut and trued.

            This is the business end after the bore was indicated off the grooves to .0001-2 then cut to length and threaded 5/8-24 then crowned with a 11° hunter/target crown.

              Bored and threaded a piece of bar stock for a custom fit thread protector

                This is after the thread protector is screwed on. Now the OD of the barrel is indicated in and he cut the protector down and final sand it to blend and match the barrel contour.**

                            Great pictures and write up.

                            I was amazed at how dirty the action threads and barrel was. Although when you think about it, it makes sense after removing some choke tubes and seeing how dirty those get in the threads.

                                I agree. This one was likely worse than others as it was a little neglected. It should be good as new after the work and a fresh coating
