I'm looking to upgrade the triggers on these two guns. The 700 trigger (2005, pre-recall) is very heavy with a hair of creep, and the AR556 is a little heavy with noticeable creep. Can these factory triggers be adjusted, or is replacement the way to go? Looking for decent upgrades on one or both, but not looking to break the bank. Thanks for recommendations.

You have several decent options on the 700. Timney, Trigger Tech, Shilen and Rifle Basix all make serviceable options on the lower end. Of those, I feel like the shilen can be adjusted to be pretty crisp with minimal over travel, the timney is less prone to dirt/grit interference and the trigger tech is the simplest for end user adjustment. Pick your poison. All are better than recent production Remington's.

For the 700, junk the factory and just replace. I've "tuned" a few and made them better... but still not as good as aftermarket
Ar- some of my teammates replaced with 2 stage timneys and they are awesome..... and over $200. I just worked my factory and changed springs and installed an over travel adjustment from "joe bobs ". All in I have about $35 in it and it's better than any factory 700 trigger (which ain't much). Very shootable in an ar-15... but not near a timney or other drip in.
