    Which Reloading manual

Which one yall using? Dad said his from the 60s are outdated and it's birthday time[emoji1]

He'll find out the the newer manuals show reduced max loads. Most of the manuals that I have had while still reloading all listed similar loads. I'd stay away from the powder specific manuals.

I like the Berger and Nosler manuals since I primarily shoot their bullets

As Blake said, if you know what bullets you will primarily be using, that is the manual I would get. Also, as an example, I shoot a lot of Barnes bullets and while I do not have their manual, I have called them in past when looking for load data for a specific bullet and caliber that was not listed on their website and they were very happy to email it to me.

I have primarily used the Lyman manual, but consult their reference manuals from time to time when I reload a round that isn't in my version the manual...300 Backout or 338 Whisper

He's got an old speer, Sierra and a Hornady. Due to age they don't have newer powders that he's wanting to play with.

Still loads a lot of the first 2 but has some nosler bullets for his 300 H&H.

I like the Hornady since I shoot mostly Hornady bullets.

It's always a good idea to use several manuals. You can see the trends of the powder manufacturers vs the bullet manufacturers. That said, I use the Nosler book/website the most, but don't forget that Hodgon and Vihtavuori have a mass of information on their websites (links below). The Quickload program is also a great investment since it lets you checks tons of different loads and see what the trends are at various powder loads.

if you're shooting one certain caliber you can find loading books for only .270 or whatever cartridge you're shooting. Pretty cool because they have multiple bullet choices
