    scope mounting choices

one thing I have never put much thought into is the various styles of scope mounts for rifles. most of my bolt guns have always had leupold based and rings and my ar platforms of course picatinny rails with burris rings

for bolt guns what are yalls choice of Mount styles and why do you feel they are better than the other options

Anything with a heavy 1 piece base and Burris signature tactical rings.

I've moved away from independent rings. I run 20 MOA rails on all of my bolt guns - my three best bolt guns have integrated rails. The glass is mounted in milled, 34mm LaRue QD mounts. The scopes in these mounts can be pulled on and off the rifle and still hold zero, and they are very durable.

Talley one piece on most hunting rigs. I have a Nightforce 20 MOA Rail and Seekins Precision rings on my 26. It has 8-40 mounting screws too so I wouldn't say I'm exactly limited on bases but way more 6-32's are made.

I've been using the Talley one piece as well and had no issues on the couple rifles I have them on.

Hunting rigs get Talley 1 piece light weights.

Precision and tactical rigs get 20 MOA Larue rails and Seekins rings.

                ARs get Larue QD mounts.

I use dual dovetail Leupold mounts. No way these suckers can move on you. I have several mag calibers and have never had an issue.

Does Talley make those in 8-40 30mm?
