I'd love to have it, but I couldn't pay you what it's worth. Did you decide to sell the IH tractor yet?

Exactly ! Everyone references these kind of listings for value but you need to go to the advanced option and look at completed auctions .
Those sold guns tell you about the market...If Fishy's gun is LNIB as these I can sell it at the same prices. This is what I do, I know the gun & why post #5 was spot on.

...and yet it continues.

Dad had an older one too but pretty sure I wore it out...the original ones first issued were much smother actions & why they bring a premium. The magic is in the original packaging & where pricing spikes.
It's become a racket...it has gotten to where you need to watch for fake boxes instead of guns, especially on pre 64's.

I sold a 94/22 mag years ago to my cousin and if I recall it was an XTR or a pre XTR with really nice wood. I remember the stock was beautiful. He wanted it and it was just sitting and he offered me $550. To have that one back....

Jebus these things are getting high. My dad has an xtr in .22lr. Not sure how old. Guess i aught to get serious about finding a matching mag version sooner than later. It is my favorite .22 (hell one of my favorite guns period) i've ever shot. Chronologically I know i killed my first dove the year I killed my first deer if not the year before at 6 yo. And i was toting that thing the season prior to that. So i been shooting that thing since i was 5 if not earlier.
