    What's it worth?

Thinking about selling my Winchester model 70 CRF with Boss system in Stainless and black synthetic stock. In .270 caliber. In great condition, what is it worth if I decide to sell?

    Check www.gunbroker.com

Great place to see what's selling and/or sold.

This, and if you log in you can search past auctions to see what they actually sold for not what they are asking..

Just can't really find what I have on there. I found one in 300 win mag listed for $895, but that seems high.

I think the Boss on a 270 probably hurts the value. Heavier recoil, different story.

$500 if you want to sell it quick
$600-650 if you can wait till you find someone that is looking for exactly what you have.

It doesn't kick at all, almost no recoil. It is the lightest recoil .270 I have ever shot.

If it was a magnum round the action would have more appeal. Not a lot of 270 shooters. I still think 5-600 is a good ballpark without seeing pics.

Isn't a .270 one of the more popular rounds?

Number 5 on a 2015 sales list, behind 223, 308, 3006, and 3030. Seems there a lot of 270 shooters. The forum darling 6.5 are not on the list. Hmmm

You think so? Lol. Watch which ones bring the most over the other calibers. I can promise a 6.5 or a 7 or a good 30 cal will outsell those. I can believe the 223 and 308 by a long shot but 30-06 and 270 and 30-30 are just old inefficient calibers now. I'm not saying I don't like them. I do. I'm just saying there's far better and it shows. Search guns in those calibers just on here and watch how they sit.

The exception here is the cheaper guns. Post a $250 rifle and lots don't care too much about the caliber as they want a budget gun or just what they can afford. But when talking $5-600+ a buyer will be more picky. And they'll get exactly what they want. The CRF action is a great one and I've been looking for an action for awhile for a dangerous game rifle build. Not too serious yet but looking. I'm just giving my opinion here as I watch lots of classifieds forums and auction sights often. My opinion only and it's worth what you paid lol. Post some pics. I'd like to see it and could maybe help with the value more.

I get what you are saying, I just googled ammo sales and it seems to say that the 270 is still a very popular round, which would seem the opposite of nobody shoots them anymore. You are probably right that it is not as "desirable" a caliber right now, but it is still popular.

Maybe I worded it wrong. There are a ton all around. Used to be a very popular round. In fact it was the first caliber my brother owned. And ALL those guns still need ammo. I just think it's being replaced by many other better calibers. 260, 7-08, 6.5-284. The nosler rounds. 280. Etc. It'll kill a lot of animals just the same as many other rounds. Jack O'Conner favored it too!!
