    Single shot 410

Who makes a good youth single shot 410 shotgun that shoots 2.5 and three inch shells? Another question is who makes a good youth pump action 410 shooting both shells?

New England Arms for the single shot and Mossberg for the pump. I have both and never had any issue or complaints about them.

Do they make a youth model?

Harrington and Richardson single shot, my first shotgun and my oldest's first shotgun. H&R makes a solid gun.

My mistake on the New England Arms, they changed to H&R. They make a pardner compact in .410. The Mossberg I have is a model 500, they now make several models in .410 youth size 500, 505, and 510.

I have a youth model H&R .410. It's a fun little gun, I can cock and shoot it with one hand. Unfortunately, Freedom Group (Remington), bought them and shut them down. A great company out of business thanks to them, along with turning Remington into crap as well. I'll never buy another product of any brand they own.

I tried to send Freedom Group an email to express my sentiments, unfortunately their website doesn't work either...

I've got a .410 Topper on the wall behind me that I learned to hunt dove with 30 some odd years ago. H&R sure knew how to make them.

A buddy of mine bought a yidiz from Academy. Single shot, small, light, cheap and functions flawlessly. Its small enough that once it is folded open, he carries it in his back pocket.

Only .410 pump I know of is a mossberg 500 but it is kinda big for a youth

There are a few H&R toppers on GunBroker.

There is good reason no one makes a multi-round pump, semi auto etc. in .410 bore in "youth". The .410 is NOT a good youth round/gauge... It is for an experienced shotgunner. The youth guns are almost all 20 gauges... Yes, many folks start young ones out on a .410, but many also create much frustration in youth because they are not successful in shooting because they don't hit their targets with the .410... If possible get your kid one of the many 20 gauge guns. He/she will succeed with it a lot easier, and if they like it, it is MUCH less expensive to just fun shoot. The youth 870 is hard to beat and later when they grow, you can get a full size stock for it and they can shoot it as an adult...
