    26 Nosler Reboot

Anyone else tried Nosler Trophy Grade ABLR's through their 26? I picked up a box of 129's today in Huntsville. I keep hearing they are finicky. My rifle is loving 130 VLD's over 74 grains of Retumbo (sub 1/2 MOA). I'm getting those loaded from Superior Custom but they are almost twice as high as Nosler Factory. My luck the won't shoot for crap.

Left Nosler ABLR 129 Right Berger VLD 130
6.8 because they look like percussion caps next to em. [emoji23][emoji23][emoji13]

Wow! I read your post and saw the 74 grains and thought "He must have meant 47 grains?"
I then went and did a little research and found out you actually did mean 74 grains.
I have to admit, I've never paid and attention to the 26 nosler and didn't realize that it's a friggin rocket!
Have you ever hunted with that? I'm thinking that bullet selection really don't matter with that kind of speed.

Yes and bullet selection is critical at that kind up speed. A bullet needs to be able to handle 100 yard or closer in impacts without surface explosion. The VLD's do. A cup n core or standard ballistic tip style bullet could turn into a V Max in a hurry close in. It has a 93 grain water capacity.

I mounted optics and sighted in an 280AI APR rifle for a buddy that loved the factory ABLR's.

I have also loaded them for my personal custom 280AI and they were extremely finicky to load but I did end up with an awesome load that had been repeatedly proven sub 1/2 MOA to 500.

Med size pigs and deer have been bang flop with complete pass through (lung shots not high shoulder) and this big pig bang flopped with no exit.

If factory doesn't shoot I bet I can work a load that does

I really like Swift Scirocco II's FYI. [emoji39]

You have a Chrono? I have a Megneto Speed. I need to cross reference with another.

I loaded the 129gr ablr for my 26 nosler and it hated them. 1-8.5 twist 26" barrel. That was with US869 at 91.5 grains set at 3.350 just of my lands. Book calls for load to be "maxed" out on powered but was starting to show slight pressure signs with more than 91.5gr. 6" group at 100 yards. Factory box did the same thing. I'm not sure what that bullet does past 100 it might be the ticket at 500 yards. I'm shooting the 140gr Nosler Accubond with 85gr of US869 sub MOA out to 500 yards at 3284fps.

Good info. I was gonna go try in print em today but the wind is howling off the lake. It should be better tomorrow. Most likely I'll end up staying with the sub 1/2 MOA set up I'm running now when all is said and done.

Yes sir I have spent a bunch of money on bullets working with different loads and the 140gr & 130gr Nosler Accubonds are the best thing I found for my rifle.

Maybe I can get the loads worked with them. Mine shoots very tight with the 130 Bergers. I put them just sub 3/4" at 200.

Accubond are usually pretty easy to get to shoot. Accubond LR's are some finicky SOB's!
