    Long Range Double on Elks

Wife and I just got back from New Mexico. On 4th day we were able to double up on couple fatty cow elks at 500 and 525yds with 6.5x284 140gr Bergers and G7 Nightforce Scope and Br2 Rangefinder. Click image for larger version

We leave Wednesday for our cow hunt. Will be using my 6.5x284 with 140 gr Amax for the second year. It's a hammer. Loving it. Congrats!

Is it just me or are those long barrels? 26" maybe?

I don't believe it, according to some on here you need a minimum of 416 Rigby to kill an elk. JK/ I too shoot a 6.5-284 a lot and love it. Congratulations
