Boyds stocks.

I ordered a pro varmit stock with a custom pad on it and I got this nonsense delivered to me. This is not my first Boyd stock. But after dealing with their customer service it will be my last. I cannot believe that they would let this out of their shop. What kind of company can be ok with this? It's not like it got damaged in shipping. It's just carelessness and disrespect for the customer. I'll gladly give my money to someone else.

I too had a terrible experience with their customer service and will not do business with them again.

I bought a stock online and added something minor to the stock that made it "custom". Within 5 minutes I was on the phone with them to try to cancel that order and buy just a regular thumbhole. The conversation went like this:

Me- Can I cancel my order and buy a regular thumbhole stock.
CS- No.
Me- Why.
CS- It's a custom order and we do not do changes or refunds to custom orders.
Me- I ordered it less than 5 minutes ago. I'm sure the people who make them have not started on it yet. Will you go check and see.
CS- No.
Me- I've ordered several stocks from y'all in the past and you're unwilling to even ask someone if this one has been started or if I can simply change to another one of y'all stocks.
CS- That's right. I'm not changing your order and not going into the back to see if they have started yours.
Me- Well that's the last stock I will order from y'all then.
CS- That's fine.

I feel your pain brother.
I own 2 Boyd's stocks and love 'em.
But, the 3rd Boyd's stock I ordered came to me with the action portion of the stock not cut out. When I sent it back to get it fixed, they just refunded me instead of sending me a usable stock.

Now I can't make up my mind if I want to give them another chance.

I get that their not the most expensive option. I guess they expect the consumer should just expect a **** product. I'm not going to be ordering anything else from them

It appears that they have more issues than I thought. It's sad because they can offer a good product at an affordable cost.


Looks like I may be doing business elsewhere on my next .243.

Dang. Glad I read this. I went back and forth between them and Stocky's, and I was about to order a Boyds because they had the laminate color I liked, and I could get a custom LOP and the recoil pad I wanted. I'm rethinking that now.

Stocky's may be getting my business, and I'll just install the recoil pad I want after I get it.
