I have an SB2 frame on my USH. Just need some rifle barrels for it so I can have them fit to it.

I see them from time to time for sale on the internet. Keep an eye out for one. The only thing i did to it was float the barrel with a oblong washer under the forearm lug.

I've had a couple Ultras. The first was a 308 that I had hard chromed and the second was a 243 and I purchased a 25 06 barrel for it.
                  Great hunting rifles.

I've got an Ultra .243 with the heavy barrel, which is my favorite.
I've also got other Handi Rifles although not ultras.
.357 Mag./.357 Maximum/.38 spl. cut to 18" this is my all purpose, walk around brush gun.
45-70, .45LC reamed to .454 Cassul, 20 gauge Pardner 24" rifled barrel slug gun.
I've had others and I love these simple rifles which all shoot great.
Too bad that Remington decided to no longer carry the line.

I saw a 280 in a pawn shop in Humble a few weeks ago. They wanted $250...not a bad deal.

Greybeard Outdoors Forum is a wealth of knowledge for these fun little shooters. I have the SB2 in synthetic and stainless with 12 ga, 270 and 45-70 bbls.

The 26 inch barrels came on the 25-06 and the 280 Rem. only. Some of the older RMEF 35 Whelen's had a 26 inch barrel as well. In the newer configurations, some of the varmint models had a 24 inch tube. The 243 and 22-250 for sure were available that way. Everything else is 22 inch, not counting the Buffalo Classic and 38-55 Target models. And the 18 inch Talo models. I've had 40 to 50 of the NEF's over the years, down to just 6 now. Like most cheap guns, some shoot way better than they should, some won't shoot for beans. Just a crap shoot what you get.

I had one with the RMEF emblem in the stock in .280. Was stolen when some low lifes broke into my house several years ago. Loved that rifle. Tack driver!
