.25moa vs 1.0cm scope "click" adjustment?

Been shopping for an inexpensive scope and I stumbled on a Sig Whiskey5 5-25 w/ 1.0cm adjustment that's marked at about 1/2 the price of the same scope with the normal .25moa clicks. I think it a mistake on their pricing and I'm really tempted to get it; but I've never used a scope with 1cm clicks. Anyone have any experience with a 1cm adjustment scope? I'm thinking, for the price savings (about $550) I could get used to that difference in clicks.

    What do y'all think?

It would be considered mils. And the way it works is that your turrets corrospond with your reticle at the power setting the reticle is printed at (second focal plane and usually 10x.). If you are just shooting and have no plans to dope your shots or shoot off the reticle the .25 moa is just a shade more precise (.08 moa less movement per click) which you will hardly notice.

Is 1 cm a tenth of an MOA? Seems ridiculously fine if it tenths of an MOA but centimeter clicks would be about 0.4 MOA at 100 yards.

No one cm at 100 yards is .33 moa. 1 cm at 100 yards is 1 mil

1cm is ONE Centimeter per click. That's .39 inches per click.

.25moa is actually .261 inches per click.

1cm clicks will not be as fine of an adjustment as .25moa adjustments. But this will be a hunting scope and I would think it's simply a matter of getting used to the clicks and maybe adding some inch-centimeter conversions to the dope card would get you, easily, past the difference.

It is 0.39" per click @ 100 meters but is 0.36" per click @ 100 yards, which is identical to 1/10 mil.

              Yeah. Duh. I'm retarded. Lol

So, what do you think? Could you get used to that?

The mil system is very easy to get used to as everything is based off of ten. Easy to do in your head vs moa based off of quarters. Sig optics are top notch as well.

I switched to mil 5 years ago and will never go back to moa.

Super easy. Make sure to get tactical turrets, so you can make adjustments on the fly.

Do you expect to be dialing it when using it? Or just zeroing the scope and leaving it be? If you're mostly and MOA guy and this is the one MIL scope you have, there's a lot of potential for getting confused in the heat of the moment. If you're just zeroing and forgetting, go for it.

I'm trying to do more dialing but, honestly, I'm not shooting all that far when I'm hunting - 350yds at most and 90% is >250yds. I've got several top end Leupold and Nightforce scopes that're moa but I'm looking for a scope to put on a 300wm I'm trying to decide whether I want to keep it or turn it into something else. I didn't want to spend a couple grand on another scope right now and when I ran across this one for around $550 with an illuminated reticle, I thought.....whoa, that might be a good scope to pick up. Comes with a free custom dial also. So, I could set that up and simply dial the distance. My rangefinder will swap from yards to meters pretty easy.

I think that, with a good dope card, I should be able to avoid confusion. I'm sort of looking for a placeholder scope - something I can slap on a rifle to shoot and see whether it's going to stay in the stable or get sold to the neighboring ranch - and I just don't want to break the bank on glass right now. I've got other rifles with great glass that are my primary hunting rifles and they're what I take on serious/high pressure hunts.

By God, I think I've talked myself into it!! [emoji1][emoji106]

Makes sense to me! Go for it. And at the price you're paying for scope you might make some money if you decide to sell it later.

Make a good dope card and use it at the range a few times. You will pick it up pretty quick. I grew up using moa and just switched to mils a year ago. It clicked in my head so my calculations became easier vs moa that seemed more complicated the further out you shot. Good luck with it and if you don't like it put it up in the for sale. As a side note it shouldn't take much dialing if your only going to shoot out to 350 or so.
