Does anyone else own aTaurus PT738?
This is actually my first personally owned handgun (and I got a super deal on a new one), and tonight was my first time running a few rounds through it. Of course, the range near me requires FMJ, which I knew a head of time. So, when I picked up my pistol, I picked up some CHEAP rounds (PPU 94gr FMJ, super cheap). I have to say, it's really not bad for being as small as it is. I ended up putting 50 rounds through it tonight, just to feel it and try to gather how it handled. It really seemed like the rear sights may just be a slight bit too short, or I was breaking my wrist downward, but most of my shot came low @ 5yds. I did notice (by the 3rd round of ammo), if I line the rear sights with the end of the barrel, instead of the front sight, it was a much tighter group. It is completely possible this was my own fault, not being used to this firearm. BUT, just like I had read, on several accounts, this pistol, has a hard time chambering the last round. Out of 50 rounds, in a 6 round mag, 5 times, the last rounds caught. Has anyone else come across this with yours? Does it reduce the more it breaks in? Or, are the certain things I can do to help resolve this issue? Let me know what yall have done!
*** I did adjust the mag spring a little to see if it helps a little next time.***
BUT, beyond that issue, it grouped well enough for me to hit chest cavity with all shots.
