Add Elk in the mix and I say 30-06 or 308 since some guides/outfitters have a 30cal minimum requirement. Not that a 270 won't do the job, as I know of several taken with 270s.

For the record I had this debate recently and chose 30-06.

One of the best over looked rounds imo. That will take down a muley and roll a yote pretty good.

That being said, I own a 7mm and for that reason its my choice. Great ballistics, manigable recoil, and a 160gr pill will thump a big muley pretty hard.
