    SBR .300 blackout Build Help

Got my Stamp back all i have currently is a stripped lower...

This will be my first build. Any advice is much appreciated...Watched some videos on building uppers / lowers tons of options!!! Gets confusing...

Any advice top 2-3 websites to buy parts at as well as whats the best technical you tube videos you recommend?

Looking to do 8.5" bbl.... 95% of time it will be suppressed

Should i go with Gas or Piston for this build and why?

Thanks in advance for all your help!

I see you live in pearl and, man are you in luck!! Check out primary arms. They will have EVERYTHING you need for cheap and you wont have to pay shipping because you can just go to the store.

    Gas operated for sure.

Gas will be quieter. Piston has a loud clack of the drive rod hitting the BCG.

If that lower is not already engraved it needs to be engraved ASAP!.

I have build many, but not an SBR upper yet. It is simple and there are tons of videos and AR15.com has some great tutorials.

I am in NW harris county if you need anything I would be glad to help.

Gas, pistol length system. Don't go cheap on the barrel, bolt carrier group or trigger.

The rest really doesn't matter near as much.

X2 on barrel and trigger. Over half of my budget is typically on my barrel, and usually a quarter is on the trigger.

Thanks on the quick response please keep the ideas coming....Didn't realize gas would be quieter....I heard Gas can get extremely dirty and have a lot of blow-back with suppressors...The blowback has me concerned because i shoot left handed..

Is blow-back not any worse than another gun with short bbls?

I'm building the exact same thing. 8.5" barrel too. From my research the things I'd recommend for suppressed shooting is an adjustable gas block, carbine buffer spring, and 7.5" handguard if you want it flush against the can.

I have everything except stock and handguard. Got all my stuff at primary arms, including the Spike's upper and lower. Oh except the barrel which is a MAS Defense. BCM BCG, standard Spike's lower kit. I think I'm going to get a Samson 7.5" handguard. Still need to get the vise and tool for assembly. One day I'd like to put an Echo trigger on it just for fun

                Specwar 762 for the can

Blowback is about the same either way as it comes out of the chamber not the gas tube,

An adjustable gas block is your friend. I use them on all my ARs suppressed or not....though now days everything is suppressed.....LOL

                    The money should go into
                    1. The best 8 and a half to 10 and a half inch barrel that you can afford and get your hands on.
                    2. Matching bolt
                    3. Best trigger you can afford. Larue mvt, geissele
                    4. Rail put 1913 rails only in the places that you need him to mount stuff.

Check out SLR gas blocks for adjustable gas blocks. I have one on my 8.5 blackout and like it a lot.

This in spades. That store will likely cause my divorce in the future.

I just built my first 300BLK and it's a 8.3" SBR. For the first time ever, I took a step away from the common high-end barrel makers and took a chance on Ballistic Advantage. I bought one of their Hanson Profile premium barrels with a low-pro gas block. I'm SUPER impressed! I'm not done with barrel break in and I'm getting .4moa groups with 2 different supers and about 1.75moa groups with 220gr subs. I've only shot a few rounds of subs and that was at last light. So the group size may change as I get more time to shoot and do a little more experimentation. I'm totally sold on BA barrels now. They're not "cheap" but they're less expensive than, say, Noveske; and I'm getting better accuracy than I have gotten from my Noveske barrels.

It runs both supers and subs, with a suppressor, using their gas block.

I also recommend the KMR handguard and Spikes T2 buffer with a Tubb flat wire spring and a Fail Zero BCG.

I'm using a Geiselle SD3G trigger and both the upper and lower are Mega brand billet. Standard lower parts kit. For a pistol grip I really prefer the Magpul K2+ grip - the angle makes the SBR a little more comfortable/natural to hold.

Have fun!! Ours is the most fun toy we've had in a while.

Call up Noveske and get them to hook you up with a 8.2 barrel with a matched bolt. CMC trigger or other of your choice. Whatever rail you want it. If you want it to cover the suppressor go with a 9" Seekins. BCM charging handle. Carrier of your choice.
