Scope Rings Not Level?

Sorry I have been AWOL on this subject but work has been crazy.

So for Christmas Santa brought me a Wheeler Profesional Scope Mounting kit and I got the rifle back out.

First I checked that the rings were still not level like I originally posted and confirmed this is still the case. If I level the front, the rear is out of level and vise versa.

Next I used a set of alignment bars and discovered the rear ring was only very very slightly vertically higher than the front ring, which would not result in the problem I have.

Next I pulled out a sendero that has the exact same scope and talley one piece rings, removed the scope and checked if the front ring was level with the back ring and it was. I removed these rings and installed them on the rifle in question (APR Maverick). Same exact problem!!! I installed the old talley one piece rings on the sendero and the front and rear rings level up with each other dead nuts! So it is definitely the mounting holes on the action (New Rem 700) not aligned.

Back to APR this rifle goes...

I have a Remington 798 rifle and it does the same thing. I ended up leveling the back and leveling the scope with that, and I have never had a issue with it since

Sorry to hear. That blows. I love and always will love a R700. But I'm rapidly falling out of love with anything that's Remington Factory. APR I'm sure will get that squared away for you.
