Talk me into/out of a Ruger American .308 and Leopold Mark IV

Found some great deals today. Ruger American .308 for $350 or so and Leopold Mark IV for less than $600. I've had tons of short to medium range guns but nothing long range because I never had a place to shoot, but now I do.

A custom APR-type build is something I'd considered if I fall in love with LR shooting, but for now I just want to put my toes in.

Well the American isn't that much of a deal I just bought the American in .308 for $199 but I'd grab the Leupold if I needed a scope.


I have a custom .308. In before everyone tells you you need a 6.5 to shoot long range as .308 is antiquated

Ruger American brand new retail is $358... Not a great deal. Like stated above I picked one up on clearance for $199 the other week.

? No the prices I posted were for brand new rifle and brand new scope.

I do not like the ruger magazine, it is too easy to dump on the ground.
