Cheap scopes

Im looking for a cheap scope for my Savage 22 and Marlin 30-30. Curious if anyone had any experience with these on sale at Academy.

Simmons is just OK if you can't do anything else. For cheap scopes, check out the Centerpoint scopes at Wal-Mart. The glass seems better to me. They are heavy though. I admit to some prejudice. I have knocked the guts out of too many Simmons scopes.
Also look at the sale section of the NatchezSS catalog on line. I just bought a $189 list Weaver for $89. Yes it's a cheap scope. But for a knock around rifle it ain't bad.

Put the 4x on both guns. Even cheap fixed-power scopes rarely break and 4x is plenty for a 30-30.

I own a couple of the "8 points" and have no complaints.

I put a 4x32 8 point on my 17hm2 and so far, it's been a good scope. my only complaint is the cross hairs are almost too thick. I bought a couple of the Nikon P-22 scopes lately for a .22 and another 17hm2 and I think the 8 pt is on par with them at 1/4 the price. only difference is the cross hairs I mentioned and maybe the warranty.

I would look at the Vortex crossfire 2. Well worth the extra little bit of money. And pretty impressive for the money especially compared to Simmons and etc.

Thanks again for the advice fellas. I ended going with the fixed 4x32 and mounted it to my marlin .17 hmr that i picked up at the walmart clearance sale.
