    Scope options

Got scopes to choose from, let me know if yall have any experience on the matter lol.

    Nikon Prostaff 7 2.5-10x44 $150 ( non bdc )
    Leupold Vari X II 3-9x40$150
Grand Slam Weaver Tactical 3-10x40 $165

This is going on a hunting gun 6.5 creedmoor, I have a SWFA 10x40 that I will switch out depending on what Ill be doing that day but wont be doing any hunting with it. I have had a Vari XII and never had issues or complaints, I handled a Prostaff 7 today and was super impressed by clairty, turrets and over all look with a 30mm tube. Kinda leaning towards the Prostaff bc the turrets are very positive, can be used like a CDS dial type turret and its miles away from the clarity of the Vari. Never touched a Weaver btw so just trying to find the best balance.

I just bought a Leupold VX-R. Super nice. Ruger Dan at Cabelas was awesome and did tell me that for the money, the Nikon Pro-Staff 5 with paralax adjustment is the best for the money. I am a Leupold snob, so I went with the VX-R. The Nikon was super clear and I was impressed. I think it was like $299.

To answer your question, I would go with Leupold.

If you were using an older Vari X II model, they have had some significant glass upgrades since then. They have the CDS dials available on some models.

For me Leupold is always >>>>>than Nikon.

Nikon all the way for me....despite comments I know are coming, never had an issue with any of ours and at least for me and the boys....winner on clarity and focus. Only thing I personally like is the BDC reticle. I've had the other brands and the eye relief on Nikon is superb particularly to the models you have listed. Our latest Nikon is the P308 designed for 308 in AR10 platform..with turrents similar to what you described. Easy and very functional IMO. My military sniper son is a Leupold fan, of course, but the scopes he is using a "way out of my price ranger by any shape or form."

              Best bang for the buck....NIKON

Really leaning that way, unfortunately im not in a place right now where $300+ scopes are on the menu so I have to think of the best bang for your buck. Leupold is great and I like my Vari X but after looking thru the nikon I have come to the conclusion that due to brand favoring I have missed out on some good quality scopes. I like Leupold dont get me wrong but Im no brand lover, the fact is if I had money to buy high end scopes I would look at nightforce, trijicon, swaro, zeiss etc

I completely agree and I would have a Nightforce, Trijicon, Swaro, or Zeiss, if that was in the budget as well. Good luck with your search.
