    Rem 700 Stock Help

I need some advice here. My mom shoots a Remington 700 BDL in 25-06. The gun is very accurate, but does not fit her well. Is there somewhere in the Houston area that can cut the stock down to fit her? Or would the best bet be to just buy a new stock with a shorter LOP? Any advice is welcomed and appreciated.

It really depends on which 25-06...if it's an original nice 700, I would go with a replacement stock so you can keep it all original.

If it's a throw down 700, you can cut it...only folks I know & can recommend are Briley. You could get a B&C or H&S and have them bed it to keep the accuracy on par.

Try Boyds. Their stocks are excellent and they will make the length of pull whatever you want. http://www.boydsgunstocks.com/

If it is her "lifetime gun" I'd have no qualms about cutting the stock down on it. Bandsaw and a "grind to fit" limb saver recoil pad + a belt or disc sander.

If it is something she may shoot for a little while then give to you or someone else, I'd go with a Boyd's stock if you're cheap, up for a little work, and want to keep the wood look.

If you don't care about looks and just want to drop it and go, magpul makes a Rem 700 stock with adjustable spacers in the back. Would be a good option for kids too, as it can grow with them, and switch back to the factory stock when they are teens.

Might take a look on eBay or Gunbroker. I know I have several la BDL stocks wher I have replaced them with aftermarket stocks
