Anyone have any experience with the 25 wssm? I know the ammo is hard to find, but read an article recently and it sure sounds like a winner - hand load or factory.

I use to have one in the winchester stealth 2. It shot great and was hard on deer. The reason I got rid of it was due to the weight of the gun. Very expensive to shoot also. -
I had one that I traded for on here. Ended up giving it to a wounded veteran's son on a guided hunt. Beautiful gun, and a great shooter. If you get one hit me up. I have some once fired brass and some factory rounds for it still that I'd let go of pretty cheap.

The brass availability is the one thing that would scare me.
Velocity wise, does it out perform or even keep up with the 25-06?
I know a guy on here that has a nice WBY Vanguard in 223 wssm that he may let go for a donor action.Comment

It's a nice little round but ballistics are very similar to a 243, according to the Winchester ballistics app.Comment

Wouldn't touch it with a 25' pole ; brass is rarer than hen's teeth
Build a 257 Wthby and don't look back ... same terminal performance
Or you could build a 257 Ack Imp which is light's out accurate and only a few hundred fps slower. I've shot deer at 450 yds with my Cooper 257 AI and Nosler 100 gr BT'sComment
