Best 1" tube scope for mid range

I have a 243 I'm trying to decide which 1" scope to put on it for varmints, whitetails, basically anything I can run into while sitting in a blind in TX. Not sure with any other brands, but I like Swarovski's z5's and Zeiss' Hd5. Want at least 14x and the Z3 models don't quite get there.

Was wondering if anyone had a suggestion on a different brand that is good in low light and is somewhere between $500-$800?

Reason I'm stuck on 1" tube is my borden action rifle is difficult to find rings for and I finally got some 1" highs - so I'm going to try and stick with the 1" for now.

    Thanks for the help

Another vote for the leupold. That is what I have on both my .243 and my .375 H&H.

Leupold or Redfield (same company, lower pricepoint).

I have a Leupold 4.5-14x40 on my 300winmag and I put one on the boy's 270. One bought here and one fom eBay. Around $425, or there aboutst, each. New costs more, of course.

call Jim and order a picatinny rail for your action

I'm guessing you have the Alpine or Timberline action ? Both are 700 clones

Talley also makes a set of rings/base for your action

Leupold is an excellent choice for the price range you listed. Midway has some deals at times on various brands including Leupold. Good luck.
