    Headed to Alaska on Monday

Headed to Alaska on Monday for a DIY Moose hunt in Alaska. A buddy of mine from the Midwest are going on a 10 day float trip. We will both be bringing rifles on this trip instead of bows. I guess we are a bit concerned about those big brown bears and not having a guide to back you up when you shoot with the bow. It is 94 degrees at my house now and we are looking at lows in the 20's and highs in the 40's on the North Slope. It should be interesting to say the least.

Good luck and be safe. They calling for a low of 12 Wednesday on the North Slope.

I have 2 friends on an Alaska float trip as we speak. They landed in Fairbanks late last night and take a rental car about 6 hrs north to the Chandalar air strip tomorrow. They fly out on a bush plane Sunday from Chandalar and float for 2 weeks. Moose Caribou and Black bear tags.

Be sure and get a reputable person to handle the shipping of your meat back or you may receive spoiled meat as a friend of mine had happen. Have fun and enjoy that beautiful area.
