My dad gave me an old savage 243 that his late brother gave to him. They both hunted with it and killed some critters, heck ive even shot a few deer with it over the years. This past season daddy really couldnt get it to group worth a crap. I decided it was time for a new barrel. I couldnt wait but my dads only request was to keep it chambered in 243 and keep the old blonde stock. I went the shaw route with the barrel. Ive gotten 4 or 5 of them over the years but never in their patent spiral fluting. So when the 24" 1:10 243 came in i was in heaven and made the 5 month wait worth it. I sent a pic to my dad he said it was perfect little bit of purdy to go with the whole lot of ugly. Felt good to hear him say that. Im glad ive got something that i can pass on to my kids that may lack in areas but will be rich in sentimental value.
