I appreciate the input. I have a Creedmoor that I use as a long range rig. It's big and heavy and not fit for a hunting rifle. I think I am
Going to stick with something in the .243/6mm family.

Thinking about a 243 AI with some 70ish grain bullets for varmints and 100ish grain for whitetail.

IMO the 6x47L will outshoot the 243 AI all day long with slightly less powder and NO fire forming cases . I like the added benefit of the small rifle primer

the 243 AI is an awesome round should you decide on that build

If you really want a 6mm, then I'd think hard about Cajun Blake's suggestion to go with the necked down Lapua. It's a really well-designed cartridge and not having to fireform is a really big plus. You could also run a 6mm Remington and get about the same velocity as a .243 AI and also avoid fireforming. (Can you tell I'm not high on fireforming brass?)
