    School me Sig 226, 229

Went to the range the other day and was able to shoot a Sig. I really enjoyed the gun.
So I started looking into them but need advise of what the differences are between models.

Just difference in size is all. Slightly shorter barrel and grip. 226 is to be a full size and 229 is more of their compact. Similar to a glock 17 and 19. Same caliber just a tad smaller.

Good choice too. I love the ergonomics of the 226 and it's next up on my list of handguns to buy

Both are great shooters 229 for me just a little bit easier for me to carry.

Only difference is barrel length and grip size, 226 is bigger than 229

I have two 229s in 40 s&w. great guns. A lot of different options, grips, triggers, etc for them. Real good shooters and if you don't mind the weight you can carry them too. If you ever want a 9mm conversion barrel or a 22lr kit go with the 40 s&w. Hogue grips are nice too.

I carry one daily and love it. One thing to think about is if you want a double/single model or one of the double action only variants. I shot a 229 in the .357 that was a double action only but I'm not sure if it was the DAO or DAK. Either way, it shot very well but I prefer the double single.
