    Reloader

Going to try and learn reloading.

Decided to go with the RCBS Rockchucker supreme kit.

Also getting the Chargemaster 1500 combo.

Getting RCBS dies for 308, 30.06, 260 and 300 Blackout.

Do I need a case trimmer right away? If so is the manual unit good enough or should I spend the extra $100 on the electric model?

What else do I need? I don't think I will be reloading more than 100 rounds a year.

You're starting of right for sure. The manual case trimmer is well enough to start off with. I have the same equipment you have but still retains the manual trimmer. The deburring I recently went to electric but only after several years and after my wrists starting to bother me.

You must get a case trimmer...especially for the long gun rounds. OAL is very critical!! A manual is fine.

Seriously, spend some time with an experienced reloader you can trust & watch / learn.

You need a good powder measure.

I have reloaded since '73 and never used anything but a manual trimmer for years, but lately, I just chuck the cutter in my drill and use it--easy breezy.

Your need for an electric trimmer depends on how much brass you need to trim. If loading in high volume, get something like the Worlds Best Trimmer, for the high volume caliber. It will get old trying to trim hundreds of cases manually. (I use one for .223)

Your equipment list will work fine for all the calibers mentioned.
By the way, don't expect to save a penny reloading. But you will shoot a lot more high quality ammo though.

Changing from 223 to 300bk is the only time I use the drill adapter for my Lyman

If your only reloading 100 +/- rounds a year, then a manual trimmer is all you need. Electric trimmers "good ones" can be a bit costly. They are really nice though.

What ever you do follow the printed menus for each load. Experiment within the min and maxes of a load. You will find a load that works best in your gun.

You are missing something in your list..... You need a Manual......READ IT..... it will get you started and help you understand what order and the way things need to be done. Most of the modern reloading manuals will give you the basics. I think way back when I bought my RCBS reloader setup it came with a Speer manual, cant remember tho.

You can usually find used reloading manuals on eBay. There is a good step by step reloading guide in the RCBS manual. Make sure you get some lube to size cases. I use Dillon, or Hornady One Shot or Imperial Sizing Wax. Makes it MUCH easier and much less likely to stick a case in the die. I've loaded for 20 years and managed to stick my first case about six months ago. Not a good feeling when you are loading for a hunt.

So I never ordered. Are these the correct products for a novice? I have the financial ability to buy the best first so don't skimp on quality. We want to load 223, 300 bo, 308, 30 06, 257 roberts, 7mm-08 and more.

I also know we need books.

The Supreme Master kit I bought had a Nosler manual in it.

Buy a case trimmer long before you buy the Chargemaster 1500 combo. A case trimmer is essential. An automatic powder dispenser that really isn't very accurate and is slow is not.

Are you looking at the supreme master kit? If so you don't need the balance or powder dispenser since you are planning to buy a charge master.

The Rockchucker is a solid press, but I would suggest you look at the forster co-ax as well.

If you don't go with the kit you'll also need to consider a reloading manual (or several)hand priming tool, case trimmer and prep tools.

Also you will most likely want a way to clean your cases. I prefer stainless tumbling. Frankford arsenals tumbler with media kit is what I use. You can dry the cases manually when they come out or get yourself a cheap food dehydrator to speed up the process.
