failure to feed - where do I start?

Ok gurus, I need input. Hit the range with my new .556 this morning and could not get the gun to cycle at all. Most of the time I just got one shot then a click on the next. Several times however the next round at least tried to feed and jammed up.
Setup is Aero lower, Aero BCG, Aero Upper, BCA barrel, radical gas block. I was using using brand new PMAG 30 magazines and I tried several different ones.

On the bright side, the rifle grouped excellent, especially for using a sightmark Ultrashot.

Look for adjustment on gas block. Then look at mag tension.

Gas block alignment, gas tube/gas block port alignment, gas tube clogged (since its new I doubt this). Sounds like a gas problem fa sho

Yep, looks like my gas block was ever so slightly off center. Definitely on straight now. Hopefully I can get back to the range on Sunday to find out.

Had the same problem with one of the son's...it was the gas block that was loose. Fixed and has not missed a beat! Amazed how a tech just did not tighten enough....have fun!

I'm the tech lol. I've done almost a dozen of these and never had a problem like this. Just wasn't paying attention I guess.

Still frustrated by this gun. After straightening the gas block the first 3 rounds went fine. Then I had one just go click. Dropped the magazine, extracted the round and looks like this. Happened twice. Also had a couple of time the round chambered but the trigger did not reset. Got through one mag but it was staying shots too so I have up for the day.

Try a mag by different manufacturer. After that, try a different buffer spring. Also make sure bolt and BCG are well lubed.

Like a stronger spring or weaker? I did note that there was significant spring noise after ever shot. Almost like a tuning fork.

I have another LPK coming in this week and am going to change out this trigger. Had trouble fitting it on install and have never had an issue like that before. It would not fit in with the safety selector installed first. Bought it from Fat Boy Tactical as a magpul enhanced lower build kit but I think the actual LPK parts are Anderson.

So couple things come to mind. You may have your gas problem fixed but your buffer is too heavy. Buffers range in weight from about 3 oz to 6oz, investigate what buffer you have.

Or, your gas problem isn't fixed. Yes I know you re aligned your block but your block may be defective or out of spec meaning the holes that allow gas to pass are not allowing gas to cycle the weapon reliably.

Try that and let us know what you find

Ok, I have a gas block in a parts order for another build so I might just switch everything out on this one first and see what happens.

That sounds like a good idea. Post a pic of your buffer

What are you looking for in the buffer tube?

Your buffer, the thing on the left in the picture. Can you read any text on it such and "H" "H2" or anything.
