    AR "Pistol" Optic ?

The search feature from my phone isn't overly productive,so, apologies if this has been covered a dozen plus times....

For those of you that have an AR pistol, what type of optic do you use ?

I will be getting an 8.5" 300 BO pistol pretty soon and trying to figure out what I want.

First instinct says red dot. Previously, I've owned an Aimpoint Pro, and, both the Vortex Sparc II and the Strikefire II.

This application will be for self defense, and, hunting also ( >100 yards, and more than likely inside of 50 )

Or, do I go 1-4 scope??

Orrrrr, 1-4 scope with a red dot and reticle to cover both areas ?

Any feedback and experience is appreciated

If it were me I'd go with just a regular ol' red dot. They're quick to get on target with and I assume most shots will be fairly close.

Burris 1-4 Tac30. I stole it off my 3 gun rifle and so far it seems to work great on it.
