    Thoughts on kel-tec sub 2000

What can you guys tell me about the little sub 2000 carbines? I'm interested in the 40 cal gen 2 model that takes glock mags. I'm basically wanting it to keep in my car and to take to the woods in my pack. I've never personally handled one, but the reviews look favorable. Thanks and let me know what you think!

Expect a convenient plinker. Not much else. But cool guns!

I like my gen 1 but looking forward to the gen 2 that will run M&P mags. The sights looks stronger and the rails will make it much easier to mount red dots etc. Its a very capable carbine in a very small package. The ergonomics are not perfect but I can shoot respectable groups out to about 80 yds with open sights. My son loves to shoot it.

Held one for the first time last Friday. It made me want one bad. Would get the gen 2 .40 cal as well if I could

Have owned a Gen 1 .40 with Glock mags for about 5 years now and it's a cool gun.
Good for quick shots out to about 100yds.
I upgraded the front sight on mine to an aluminum one.

Thanks for the great info so far! Do you guys think the glock mag version is the way to go? I dont own any pistols that takes compatible mags for the sub 2000s.

Yes. I have a gen one 9mm somewhere in the safe. Glock mags are cheap and readily available.

Glock mags a quality and inexpensive which is a good option. The Gen 2 Subject 2000 has a standard AR 15 front sight. That opens another dimension with things you can do.

Tritium is avaialble and other glow in the dark sights and/or a combination of the two. Here is an example:
